Ron and Michael got married at the iconic Plaza Hotel this past December, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. In fact, it was recently featured in The Cut. They started getting ready in separate rooms with spa treatments, accompanied by their best friends. It was a chilly winter day in New York City, with rain falling off and on, which added to the moody, romantic vibe of the day. I was super excited to see what their globally acclaimed designer, Jove Meyer, dreamed up for the décor. His work is truly extraordinary. Jove’s colorful, artistic weddings are not just fabulous designs but one-of-a-kind experiences you’ll never forget.
After getting ready, the grooms handed out gifts to their best men, and off we went for portraits on the grand staircase of The Plaza. A lucky break in the weather allowed us to venture outside for a few portraits in the park, which still displayed vibrant autumn colors. Early winter is my absolute favorite time in the city!
Then, we met up with the wedding party and family for portraits. After a brief wedding rehearsal, the grooms signed their Ketubahs, surrounded by friends and family. The ceremony took place in one of the most beautiful rooms in New York City, but their heart-tugging vows outshone it. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room when they broke the glass together as newlyweds. The love and support for these two was palpable from beginning to end.
Finally, their epic reception was a madhouse dance party with an incredible multi-piece band courtesy of Hank Lane. The hora was quite literally over the top in the best way, and those were some of my favorite photos to create for them.
