Intimate Wedding at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn // Kaitlin + Kevin
Kaitlin and Kevin opted for a modern minimalist wedding with a nod to old-Hollywood glamour. In collaboration with Koleby Margoles at Wedfully, The Wythe Hotel’s fabulous event helped set the stage and finalize the details for their memorable day. The couple wanted to focus on their marriage, commitment, and families above all else, and all 15 guests were reaching for the tissues during this intimate celebration.
Kaitlin Menza is a columnist for both Conde Nast Traveler and Business of Home. Her work has been featured in top style and culture publications, including the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Women’s Health, Hollywood Reporter, Forbes, and more. What an honor it is to be selected as the wedding photographer for a client who is so professionally acquainted with media, photography, and culture.
Retro Dress, Modern Curls
Kaitlin wore a beautiful 1930s-style silk charmeuse Old Hollywood dress in pale champagne. For a modern touch, she styled her long dark locks in loose waves rather than retro pin curls. Long gold-stick pearl earrings, soft bronze eye shadow, and pink lip color completed her chic look. Finally, her shiny copper-toned patent leather flat sandals tied into the elegant metallic theme chosen for their wedding day. Kaitlin paired her outfit with a loose bouquet of deep burgundy and champagne dahlias for a pop of rich color.
The bride perfected the elegant and sophisticated combination of vintage and modern elements. She turned heads and made a statement in modest fashion. Meanwhile, her debonair groom matched her chic style with an Ermenegildo Zegna suit.
Wythe Hotel Loft Ceremony
With all the details in place, Kaitlin and Kevin were ready to exchange handwritten vows and honor their commitment to one another. Once a Brooklyn factory, the historic Wythe Hotel is known for its non-traditional boutique rooms and suites. Their spacious lofts feature walls of windows, wooden beams, and old-world wallpaper.
With such an intimate gathering, the ceremony arch and guest seating fit perfectly in the light and airy loft with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing dramatic views of the Manhattan skyline. It’s not often you see wedding guests watching the ceremony from plush leather couches, but the setup worked beautifully for this couple and their loved ones. Rather than a casual event, it felt sacred and special—just between the couple and those they love most.
After the “I do’s,” the couple snuck away for some sunset away for some golden-hour portraits before joining guests for a seated dinner in the Cooper Room, an intimate downstairs gathering place reminiscent of a wine cellar. The brick walls and family-style seating enhanced the warm and inviting ambiance. With a small guest list, there’s still room for cozy lounge areas, a large bar, and room for mixing and mingling beneath the chandeliers’ soft glow. Toasts were made, laughs were shared, and the rest was history. Cheers to this fantastic duo—you two deserve the very best!
