Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are your rates?

We approach wedding photography pricing a bit differently. As opposed to the typical multi-tiered packages, we build in everything you need, up front. Key inclusions are full-resolution, post-produced images returned to you for no additional fees, a second photographer, as well as a generous credit towards albums and prints which you decide how to use. You'll be able to freely share your photos and we can help guide you towards the right products to best showcase your images. All of this can be customized to best suit your needs. Please contact us for rates and availability specific to your date and location.

  • How would you describe your style of photography?

Weddings are incredible. We employ photojournalism, environmental portraiture, fashion, and editorial details in a way that, in total, create a sophisticated story of your wedding day. It's a many-layered portrait of your family - past, present, and future - made manifest through the power of photography.

  • We're having a destination wedding, do you travel?

We love to travel! We're based in New York and Baltimore, but we've worked in places as far flung as Indonesia, Africa, France, Spain, The Caribbean, Mexico, and from Coast to Coast of this beautiful country. Travel is included for events from New York to Northern Virginia, and we can custom quote for the cost of travel to wherever your pronouncements of love bring you. Sometimes, when we're planning to be in a location already, you can save on travel costs too.

  • How do I reserve the date?

We ask for a 50% deposit, payable by check or credit card, to hold the date. We can also schedule automated payments if that works best for you.

  • How do I decide on which one of you to commission?

Browse our galleries, send us an email, give us a call and set up a meeting. We can also video conference with you as necessary. We'd love to show you more of our work and learn more about your day. One of us may make more sense to you for a number of reasons. But first make sure the photographer you've fallen in love with is available on your date! If you can't decide, we offer coverage with two Readyluck principal photographers at a 10% discount of our combined rates. In this instance, the images you receive will be incredibly comprehensive.

  • When will I get to see my photos?

Depending on what part of the year you get married, we spend about two to six weeks after the wedding meticulously editing and enhancing your photos. Your initial introduction will be your customized website where you'll have the ability to select which images you'd like to share with friends and family.

  • Will I receive the digital files?

Yes. We deliver all of the full resolution, post-produced, un-watermarked images to you shortly after your website is released. You have exclusive personal reprint rights.

  • How many photos will I receive?

It greatly depends on the variables of the day, and the amount of time spent photographing. On average, it's between 800 and 1200 images.

  • Do you work with a second photographer or assistant?

Yes. Our wedding day coverage includes a second photographer, so that we can document moments that happen simultaneously, and generally enhance the collection of photos that you receive. At times, we'll include an additional assistant to help with making the day run smoothly.

  • What will my finished images look like?

Our roots are in the darkroom and we approach the post production of your images with the same creativity and standards. Our images articulate your story with clean color, and classic black and whites that outlast passing trends.

  • What other photography work do you do?

We are a diverse team, though similar in our curiosity for things outside of the familiar. We are adventurers, informed by history, and inspired by our families and friends. We are fans of the arts and music, travel and food. We've all lived in different countries at one point or another, and a good part of our repertoire stems from that experience. In addition to the wedding world, our published images and projects have appeared in TIME magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and a variety of superb blogs and websites. We've also had images featured on NBC's Daily Connection, and a really strange, but totally rad public access show.
