Chloe and Mike

In May I headed an hour outside of New York City to photograph Chloe and Mike's wedding at Chloe's parents house.  I met Chloe last year while on assignment for the London Times.  The Times commissioned me to photograph Chloe upon the release of her first book, "Wild Romance,  A Victorian Story of a Marriage, a Trial, and a Self-Made Woman".  She spent a year living in London researching and writing her book and we met shortly after her return to Washington D.C.  Chloe and I worked wonderfully well together and shortly after our portrait session, she contacted me to see if I would be interested in photographing her wedding.  I was thrilled!

The wedding was everything I thought it would be and more.  Both Chloe and Mike's clean sophisticated style were present in everything from her lovely dress by Monique Lhuillier from Mark Ingram  to the finest table details.  Wedding planner, Michelle Meltzer, was on top of everything and did a fabulous job with the design of the wedding.  The catering, done by Susan Lawrence, was some of the best I've tasted, not to mention the presentation and organization was top notch.  The floral was done by The Green Vase, lighting by Frost Lighting, hair by JD Bowers of Tosler Davis, makeup by Mary of Tosler Davis, ceremony and cocktail music by Raya Brass Band and the DJ for the event was DJSeek10 (Masika Henson).  There is an extended gallery of pictures here.

UPDATE! Style Me Pretty recent featured Chloe and Mike's wedding!

Amber and Russell

This weekend is finally Amber and Russell's wedding! I'm so looking forward to their day, and I wanted to share a couple of my favorites from their engagement session back in chilly November.

There are days when I realize full on that I am incredibly lucky. Photographing Amber and Russell was one of those days. Not only was the weather perfect, but after spending just a few minutes with these two people, things just clicked. I could tell that we share the same goofy sense of humor and I felt like we'd already been friends for years. And so, instead of spending the post gushing over how many things we have in common, and how awesome this couple's wedding is going to be, I wanted to share Amber's perspective and let her do the talking.

"Russell and I met six years ago at none other than a wedding! For five years we flew back and forth between where I was going to college and where Russell was stationed for the Army, making the best of our time together, even when it was distanced by deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. A couple days after he returned from Afghanistan, Russell flew into Baltimore and proposed to me- I was beyond excited and surprised! And so the wedding planning began..

During our engagement shoot, Lindsay made sure that she got shots of all the areas of Baltimore that we loved and had so many creative ideas. She put our somewhat camera-shy selves at ease, and made the shoot such a fun experience- even our dog who we wanted in the shoot seemed to have a great time!"

See you Sunday!
