The Knot Gala

We were thrilled to be the official photographers for The Knot Gala this year at the New York Public Library. Our friends at jes GORDON/Proper Fun coordinated and implemented an absolutely spectacular celebration centered around the theme of the Five Senses by assembling a team of New York's most innovative wedding vendors. It all provided the perfect backdrop for the most anticipated bridal fashion week soiree! Here are a few of our favorite moments below.

Taylor Creative's beautiful furniture provided an oasis like setting amongst the colorfully lit backdrop crafted by Frost Productions and Smith Party RentalsMarcia Selden prepared elegant and delicious dishes for the celebrants including a live edible garden. Some of the activities for guests included visits to the photo booth with the paper floral backdrop by Balushka of Paper Floral Artistry and temporary tattoos by Love and Madness. The sensory experience continued with Myaromacology's custom perfume bar and Cake Alchemy's shiny sculptural delights.

The Knot TV show filmed live that night from the gala, and we were front and center to photograph Carley Roney, Editor in Chief of The Knot interviewing some of this season's stunning wedding dress designers and even a few of the Bachelorette stars! Hank Lane Productions and Total Entertainment had the entire party dancing all night.

Camp Go Away

During the busy season, it's rare to find time to hang out with our colleagues and friends and make pictures together. Lindsay and I jumped at the chance to attend Camp Go Away, our friends Chellise and Mike's super fun photography retreat. It was a dream to take off for camp at Cedar Lakes Estates in Port Jervis, New York, a beautiful wedding venue and summer camp. We loved going to camp as kids, and reveled in the chance to play amongst other creative image makers. We enjoyed the luxurious and rustic accomodations by the Sisters at Cedar Lakes and Chellise and Mike hosted communal BBQs by the pool. The fog-filled dewey landscapes and the sound of children's laughter just beyond the pines made for some magical opportunities to slow down, wander and photograph. Fuji and Fotocare were generous and provided us with film (including loads of instant film!) and cameras to document our adventures.

Just like the days of summer camp years ago, we made new friends and kept the old. Here are some of the photographs Lindsay and I made while meandering in the Catskills.
